Owning the Global Stage: ITC’s Excellence in WorldStar Packaging Awards

The WorldStar Competition, hosted by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO), is the most prestigious global packaging award that honors innovation in sustainable packaging, smart packaging design, and eco-friendly packaging solutions. Each year, over 300 entries from 34+ countries are evaluated, highlighting the best in packaging innovation and sustainability in packaging.

Eligibility is limited to winners of national or regional packaging competitions, ensuring only the best packaging solutions compete. Additional recognitions include the Sustainability Award, Marketing Award, and President’s Award for standout achievements.

ITC Packaging has emerged as a leader in sustainable packaging in India, winning several awards that validate its commitment to environmentally friendly packaging and innovative design.


Recent achievements:

  • 2024 – Three WorldStar Awards for:

    • Microwavable POP BOX (for heat-retaining, compact packaging)

    • Limited Edition Whiskey Pack (crafted with renewable packaging materials)

    • Freedom from Plastics Pack (a 100% paper-based, plastic-free packaging solution)

  • 2023 – Five awards, including:

    • Ultra-high barrier recyclable laminate (flexible packaging innovation for coffee)

    • Paper-based tea envelope using BioSeal (a patented biodegradable coating)

    • Leak-proof paperboard ice cream pack (aligned with reduce–reuse–recycle packaging principles)

These awards demonstrate ITC’s leadership in green packaging solutions, food-safe packaging, and plastic-free alternatives.

The 2025 WorldStar Awards set new records with 550 entries from 40 countries and 260 global winners. Top-performing countries included Japan (23), Germany & Austria (22), and India (19). Winners will be celebrated at IPACK-IMA in Milan on May 30, 2025.

ITC’s award-winning packaging not only reflects global excellence but also advances India’s standing in the global sustainable packaging industry.
