ITC Haridwar Unit Wins Gold at CII Northern Region Green Practices Awards 2022

 


ITC Packaging and Printing Business (PPB) Haridwar unit has been honored with the Gold Award at the CII Northern Region Green Practices Awards 2022. The unit also received recognition for Best Practices in Water Conservation in the large industries category.

During the assessment period, ITC Haridwar achieved significant environmental milestones:

  • 18.1% reduction in specific water consumption per ton of production
  • 35.4% reduction in specific hazardous waste generation
  • 3.7% reduction in specific electricity consumption and 1.5% reduction in thermal energy consumption

The unit implemented innovative in-house measures and collaborated with customers and supply partners, following the 3R philosophy (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). A rooftop solar plant was also commissioned to increase renewable energy usage, supporting ITC’s Sustainability 2.0 targets.

ITC Haridwar promotes a culture of sustainability among its workforce through energy conservation drives and Sustainability Pledge sessions, encouraging the adoption of LiFE (Lifestyle For Environment) practices.

These awards highlight ITC PPB’s commitment to environmental responsibility, energy efficiency, and sustainable business practices, reflecting its dedication to the triple bottom line: people, planet, and profit.
